Position Summary:

Judicial Branch of Commonwealth of Massachusetts is looking for Accessibility Subject Matter Expert with at least seven years of experience to support digital accessibility readiness.

The position requires a balance of deep knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1 (AA/AAA) requirements along with strong testing and communication skills. Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to content creators on accessible design and best practices to optimize userexperience in web-based materials and other digital content. Consult and assist the MassachusettsJudiciary Branch in remediation efforts on a wide range of digital public facing content, including web,documents, multimedia, forms, and enterprise systems

• Work within guidelines developed by Judicial Branch Leadership to ensure the accessibility program alignswith compliance standards and best practices in optimizing user experience.

• Participate in requirements analysis to align business needs with accessible design

• Assist in development of operational procedures based on accessibilitystandards and established processes.

• Provide technical guidance to content creators on accessible design and best practices to optimize userexperience in web-based materials and other digital content. Test public-facing content in conventionalformats (Word, Excel, PDF, PowerPoint) and websites with assistive technologies (JAWS,NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver, Adobe Acrobat, PAC) and automated tools (axe, WAVE, WorldSpace) andadvise on proper testing protocols.

• Conduct accessibility audits for websites, documents in various formats, includingPDFs and forms, and generate reports regarding compliance with Section 508, WCAG 2.0/2.1 (AA/AAA).

• Create detailed accessibility reports with actionable recommendations for the Massachusetts Judiciary.

• Identify inaccessible content and/or other issues, then assist organization to support remediation efforts.

• Provide training to internal teams to support accessible content creation for accessibility standards and tools. Develop supporting materials.

• Conduct Office Hours to support content developers.

• Create accessible templates to assist content creators in streamlining their processes.

• Assist with requests and inquiries related to digital accessibility from the public ensuring timely andeffective responses.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in digital accessibility or related fields 3 of 3

• Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)

• Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA, Section 508, and ADA Title II.

• Hands-on remediation experience with documents, web, and multimedia content.

• Proficiency with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to navigate complex organizational structure through cross-functionalcollaboration and stakeholder communications.

• Commitment to improving access to digital services for diverse court users, including individuals withdisabilities.

• Strong communications skills – both written and verbal. Ability to write and communicate with all levels ofthe Massachusetts Judiciary, including leadership.
