Full Stack Engineer with Security Clearance

Full Stack Software Engineer Location: 100% Remote (Must reside in the DMV area)
Clearance Requirement: Active Top Secret Clearance ; Ability to maintain Top Secret Eligibility Required
Overview We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support the development of mission-critical federal applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building and integrating modern web applications across the full technology stack, including front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases, and cloud-based solutions.

This role offers the opportunity to work on highly visible government initiatives supporting financial, budgeting, reporting, and oversight functions. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using modern development frameworks and architectures. Build and integrate front-end, back-end, API, database, and testing components. Develop RESTful APIs, business logic, data-access layers, validation, logging, and error-handling mechanisms. Design and implement relational database schemas, queries, and data services.

Participate in Agile software development activities including code reviews, sprint planning, testing, and deployment. Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices to improve software quality and delivery. Troubleshoot and optimize application performance, system reliability, database operations, and API integrations. Apply secure software development practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure API design. Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, APIs, databases, deployment procedures, and operational processes.

Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, data scientists, AI/ML specialists, and UX/UI teams to deliver technical solutions. Required Qualifications
4+ years of professional software development experience. Experience developing full-stack applications utilizing modern front-end and back-end technologies. Hands-on experience building REST APIs and integrating distributed application components. Strong understanding of relational databases, API design, and modern web architectures. Experience with source control systems, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD practices.

Knowledge of secure web development principles and application security best practices. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, technical communication, and documentation skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment. U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret security clearance. Experience supporting federal government software development programs. Experience with financial, grants, budget, payment, reporting, or oversight systems. Strong Linux administration and development experience. Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server. Experience developing applications using Java and/or .NET technologies. Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD automation tools. Experience with Azure DevOps environments. Experience with Kubernetes, Rancher, or container orchestration platforms.

Experience integrating AI/ML, large language models (LLMs), or advanced analytics capabilities into enterprise applications. Familiarity with AI-enabled application architectures and open-source AI technologies. Desired Technical Skills
