Job Title: Mechanical CAD Technician
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Summary
We are seeking a Mechanical CAD Technician to support the creation and maintenance of mechanical drawings for automation and robotic systems. This role will work closely with mechanical engineers and designers to produce detailed drawings, update revisions, maintain documentation, and support manufacturing and assembly activities.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in CAD tools, detail-oriented, and capable of producing high-quality drawings in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using CAD software.
• Generate manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings from existing designs.
• Update drawings and documentation based on engineering change requests.
• Ensure documentation conforms to established drafting standards and drawing practices.
• Maintain drawing libraries, part databases, and engineering documentation.
• Work with engineers and senior designers to incorporate design updates and feedback.
• Support prototype builds and manufacturing teams by providing accurate drawing packages.
• Perform drawing reviews for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Assist with bill of materials (BOM) updates and documentation management.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Design, Drafting, CAD, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience creating mechanical drawings in a professional environment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards.
• Experience creating manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting robotics, automation, industrial equipment, or manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with GD&T fundamentals.
• Experience managing engineering documentation and revision control.
• Exposure to PLM or document management systems.
