Mainframe Developer

Job Description:

The Nebraska Department of Transportation is looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer to support, maintain, and enhance mission-critical applications.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of application development experience

• Strong hands-on experience with COBOL and CICS

• Recent COBOL coding experience within the last 12 months is mandatory

• JCL and job scheduling

• IBM Mainframe / z/OS

• TSO / ISPF

• SQL and DB2

• QMF

• XPEDITER

• Software development lifecycle experience

• Troubleshooting and production support

• Strong communication and documentation skills

Candidates must be able to develop in both COBOL and CICS — no exceptions.

Preferred Skills:

• Micro Focus COBOL

• App Master Builder

• Mainframe migration / re-hosting / re-platforming

• Agile / Scrum

• Highway or transportation systems

• SQL Server

• ASP.NET / C#

• Web / Windows Services

• SSRS
