Responsibilities:
This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate communication of imaging results, coordinating patient care, and facilitating smooth operations between radiologists, providers, and patients.
What you will do
- Answer, locates, direct calls to ordering providers when there is an imaging study with a critical result.
- Serve as the first line contact for radiologists, providers, and nursing staff regarding urgent imaging findings.
- Reviews reports and sends proper notification to patients and referring physicians as needed by using Epic secure chat, e-fax and in-basket messaging.
- Maintain and manage the critical results tracker to ensure timely communication within required timeframes.
- Verify MRI safety for outpatients with implantable devices (e.g., pacemakers, IUDs, neuro-stimulators) through proper interrogation protocols.
- Notify ordering providers when devices fail interrogation to facilitate alternative care planning.
- Work closely with the Patient Connection Center to ensure timely scheduling of patients' post-device interrogation.
- Request and manage outside imaging for exam correlation using Powershare.
- Perform basic office procedures to support the Imaging Call Center's daily operations.
Qualifications:
Education- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
Work Experience
- 1 year of previous call center, operator, dispatching, or related office experience Required
