Scrum Master

Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid)
Position Summary
The Scrum Master supports a dedicated Agile delivery team and owns the team’s delivery rhythm and overall health. This role facilitates all sprint ceremonies, removes impediments, maintains accurate team metrics, and helps the team adopt AI assisted delivery tools. The Scrum Master also partners closely with the Product Owner to ensure backlog clarity and sprint readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate sprint ceremonies including planning, daily stand ups, reviews or demos, and retrospectives

• Remove impediments and shield the team from distractions

• Escalate blockers promptly to leadership

• Maintain team boards, metrics, and sprint reports using AI assisted tooling

• Coordinate with other Scrum Masters on cross team dependencies

• Support backlog refinement and ensure stories are ready for upcoming sprints

• Drive continuous improvement through actionable retrospectives

• Support release planning and readiness activities

Minimum Experience

• Two plus years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting software delivery teams

• Working knowledge of Jira or similar Agile tools

• Strong facilitation and communication skills

• Ability to prioritize and self start

• Adaptable and flexible as priorities shift

• Open to collaboration and feedback

• Strong presentation skills

• Ability to work a hybrid schedule in Reston VA and at client locations in the Washington DC area

Mandatory Skills

• CSM or PSM I certification

• Two plus years of Scrum Master experience

• Sprint ceremony facilitation

• Impediment removal and blocker escalation

• Agile team metrics and reporting

• Jira or equivalent Agile tooling

• Backlog refinement and sprint readiness support

• Cross team dependency coordination

• Release planning and readiness support
