Job overview

  • Following a successful recruitment program in 2022, we are looking to further expand our small and friendly manufacturing team based in Santa Clara, California.
  • In our laboratories, a team of skilled scientists and technicians develop and produce novel, high-performance diamond products for the global market.
  • This is an integral role in supporting our end-to-end manufacturing activities and will involve using a range of polishing, lapping, measuring and inspection tools.
  • The successful candidate will carry out key processes for our post-production operations to meet operational needs.
  • The role will suit a diligent and autonomous individual with good attention to detail who enjoys a structured approach to their work.
  • The successful applicant will be trained and supported by subject experts in each area.
  • The role is considered flexible and the successful applicant may train into other processes as business requirements dictate. We have a “skills-based pay” program to reward such cross training.
  • Safety culture is a priority given the inherent higher risks and hazards of our industrial processes and working environment.
  • The ideal candidate will look to support continuous improvement across production.

 

Duties and tasks

  • Delivering work safely and to a standard that ensures the health and safety of others.
  • Undertaking work in diamond wafer processing (lapping, polishing, quality control checks) as well any other ad-hoc requirements as requested.
  • Using lappers, polishing tools and precise measurement tools to ensure products are finished to the specification required.
  • Maintain equipment and work area to a high standard of neatness & cleanliness.
  • Working as an integral member of the production team to ensure Promise Adherence of delivery to customer.
  • Be a role model for our Company values.
  • The applicant is required to work to very exacting standards and expectations – these are critical processes applied to very high value parts.
  • A diligent & careful worker with a keen eye for detail.
  • The ideal applicant has machining or lapping/polishing skills or has demonstrated competence in an artisanal trade. This is not a requirement as enthusiastic and diligent candidates can be highly successful in the role.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer literacy to use QC tools/equipment and perform data acquisition.
