Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer / Manufacturing Engineering SME

Job Type: Full time Permanent 
Experience: 8+ Years
Location: Boston MA

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering SME with 8+ years of experience in high-volume discrete manufacturing, preferably Tier-1 Automotive. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in NPI, manufacturing process development, industrialization, DFM/DFA, GD&T, factory layout, equipment commissioning, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead NPI, process development, production launch, and manufacturing ramp-up from concept through full production.

  • Develop process flows, SOPs, work instructions, routings, PFMEA, Control Plans, APQP/PPAP, and manufacturing documentation.

  • Perform DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up, time studies, line balancing, capacity planning, and process optimization.

  • Support equipment, tooling, automation, fixtures, robotics, and Poka-Yoke deployment and commissioning.

  • Design and optimize factory layouts, PFEP, material flow, workstations, and production lines.

  • Drive Lean/Six Sigma and root-cause analysis initiatives to improve OEE, throughput, cycle time, yield, quality, and productivity.

  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, Facilities, Automation, and EHS teams.

  • Support digital manufacturing technologies including MES, SCADA, PLM, SAP/ERP, and Industry 4.0.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.

  • 8+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in NPI, industrialization, process engineering, or production launch.

  • Strong high-volume manufacturing experience; Tier-1 Automotive preferred.

  • Hands-on expertise with PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, DFM/DFA, GD&T, line balancing, capacity planning, and equipment commissioning.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 8D, 5 Why, and Fishbone.

  • Experience with automotive, battery, aerospace, energy, industrial equipment, or other large-scale discrete manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
