The Role

• Operate specialized equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders) to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Utilize equipment to stack, move, and organize containers efficiently and safely.
• Conduct pre- and post-use equipment inspections to ensure operational readiness and safety.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily logistics operations.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts (2nd or 3rd shift) determined by union seniority.
• Strong safety consciousness and meticulous attention to detail.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders/stairs on railcars.
