The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to move shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks.
• Position containers and chassis accurately within the intermodal yard.
• Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors for efficient workflow.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 50lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts (2nd or 3rd shift) based on union seniority.
• Strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs on railcars.
