About the Client:
Our client is a late-stage clinical oncology company developing novel targeted therapies for patients with RAS-addicted cancers. Their R&D pipeline includes multiple RAS(ON) inhibitor programs currently in clinical development.
The Opportunity:
The Executive Director, Clinical Supply Chain will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for end-to-end clinical supply chain activities across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the global clinical supply chain strategy aligned with the clinical development pipeline and long-term business goals
- Establish strategies/processes to ensure uninterrupted supply across all phases of development
- Serve as subject matter expert for clinical supply chain planning, risk management, and execution
- Build scalable processes and infrastructure to support early- through late-phase clinical programs
- Lead strategic planning on comparator sourcing management for timely, compliant, cost-effective product availability
- Manage clinical studies executed with collaboration partners
- Identify and implement clinical supply chain best practices
Clinical Supply Operations
- Oversee end-to-end clinical supply activities: demand forecasting, protocol reviews, packaging, labeling, distribution, returns
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of investigational medicinal products (IMP), including comparator products
- Champion monthly Development Operations planning (DnOP) process with PDM and Clinical Ops teams
- Ensure efficient global clinical supply chain distribution networks
- Oversee comparator products demand/supply planning with expert-level knowledge of comparator drugs and co-medication sourcing
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Clinical Operations and Clinical Study Execution Teams (CSET)
- Collaborate with PDM, Quality, and Regulatory for compliant manufacturing, labeling, distribution
- Work with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure all clinical supply activities comply with GxP, ICH, FDA, EMA, and global regulatory requirements
- Lead inspection readiness activities for global filings
Team Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing clinical supply chain organization
- Establish performance metrics, development plans, succession planning
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Required Skills, Experience & Education:
- Bachelor''s degree (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or Life Sciences) with 20+ years of pharmaceutical supply chain experience; OR Master''s degree (MS/MBA) with 18+ years of experience
- CPIM/CSCP certification a plus
- 5+ years in a leadership/supervisory role
- Strong cGMP experience for small molecules; end-to-end supply/demand planning
- Effective vendor management skills
- Excellent cross-functional leadership and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Proven experience hiring, managing, and developing teams
- Experience with outsourced manufacturing operations (CMOs)
- Strong analytical and executive-level reporting skills
- Comfortable with ambiguity/complexity; self-starter
