Job Description

Director of Sales
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the company's sales organization and achieving profitable growth through strong order intake, revenue performance, market development, and customer relationships. This is a hands-on, player-coach position combining strategic sales leadership with the day-to-day responsibilities of an active Sales Manager. The Director will lead and develop the sales team while personally managing key accounts, significant opportunities, and new business development.

The Director works closely with Executive Leadership, Marketing, Applications, Engineering, Operations, Parts, Service, and Finance to ensure customer needs are translated into commercially and technically successful solutions. Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve company order intake, revenue, margin, and growth objectives. Lead, coach, and hold accountable Regional Sales Managers and other sales personnel. Serve as an active Sales Manager, personally managing key customers, prospects, and significant sales opportunities.

Develop new customers, markets, applications, and strategic business opportunities. Maintain a qualified sales pipeline sufficient to support current and future order intake and revenue goals. Develop and maintain accurate sales, order intake, and revenue forecasts. Conduct regular pipeline and sales performance reviews. Support the sales team with customer applications, proposals, presentations, pricing, and negotiations. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, representatives, distributors, and industry partners.

Work with Applications and Engineering to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements and company capabilities. Collaborate with Marketing on lead generation, sales materials, website content, trade shows, and market development. Coordinate with Parts and Service to develop aftermarket opportunities and strengthen customer relationships. Ensure consistent and accurate use of the company CRM system. Provide Executive Leadership with regular reporting on order intake, revenue, pipeline, forecasts, risks, and opportunities.

Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field preferred.
~7+ years of progressive sales experience with demonstrated sales leadership responsibility.
~ Industrial machinery, automation, packaging equipment, or engineered capital equipment experience strongly preferred.
~ Proven ability to lead a sales team while remaining personally active in direct selling.
~ Strong understanding of technical and consultative sales processes.
~ Demonstrated experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts, pricing, margins, and commercial negotiations.
~ Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and customer relationship skills.
~ CRM experience, preferably Salesforce
~ Ability and willingness to travel as required.
