Position Summary

Kaseya is seeking a Software Engineer II (Backend) to join our growing engineering team and help build scalable software solutions across platform, data, and AI initiatives. This role will focus on developing reliable backend services, APIs, and integrations while contributing to modern software architecture and cloud-based applications.

The Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, test, and maintain backend systems while improving performance, scalability, reliability, and security. Working closely with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams, this individual will contribute to technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and help deliver high-impact solutions that support evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable software applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations.
Build and support microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
Work with relational and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and containerized applications.
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver business and technical requirements.
Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code while participating in code reviews and technical design discussions.
Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security while troubleshooting production issues.
Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices.
Contribute to platform, data, and AI-related initiatives while mentoring junior engineers and improving team engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong backend development expertise.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, C#, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js.
Experience developing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, microservices, or backend applications, with a solid understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
Hands-on experience with relational or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and modern deployment practices using Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and messaging technologies, along with strong debugging, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience building SaaS products or enterprise software.
Exposure to AI, machine learning, LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), automation, or data platforms.
Experience with Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other DevOps tools.
Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
Knowledge of security, identity, role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, and authorization.
Experience in fintech, cybersecurity, healthcare, insurance, e-commerce, or other enterprise environments.
Experience mentoring engineers, leading technical projects, or working in Agile/Scrum teams.
