Technical Support/Scripting Technician

TITLE: Technical Support Specialist 4

LOCATION: Gulfport, Mississippi

ANTICIPATED DURATION: From 09/07/2026 to 09/06/2029

Main skills looking for are PowerShell skills to create scripts to automate desktop proactive fixes and some technical support experience.  Open to recent grad or equivalent.

Responsibilities:

• Provide onsite technical support for end-user devices and specialized systems Monday through Friday
• Support existing Control Centers with onsite technology assistance
• Collaborate with other personnel to support storm-related and critical 24/7 business operations, including after-hours as needed
• Manage OS and system patches/updates to minimize operational impact
• Provide consulting, including technology needs assessments, potential solutions, and automation opportunities
• Partner with business and internal teams for incident and problem resolution
• Build relationships with business partners and act as a liaison between the business and technology teams

Requirements:

• Two-year degree in a technology-related field or equivalent military or work experience
• Proficiency with office computing environments, including PC hardware, Windows 11, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Experience in technology hardware/software deployment, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills with a customer service focus and ability to meet commitments and deadlines
• Ability to coordinate work across functions, share best practices, and work effectively with business partners and vendors
• Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 40 pounds, and to stoop, kneel, crawl, and reach to install/check equipment and cabling

Preferred Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related technical field
• Working knowledge of the electric utility industry
• Experience with PC hardware repair
• Experience managing small, local projects applying technology to business problems
• Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse teams and business partners

The hourly pay rate range for this position is $ $25.00 to $ $32.00 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
