Software Engineer Lead Java

Introduction:

We are looking for a Software Engineer Lead Java to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java 17, Microservices, Rest API's, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Datastax, Openshift, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Splunk, Apache Cassandra, Automated Testing, and API development. As a lead, you will be responsible for guiding a team of developers, reviewing code, coordinating across different teams, and writing production code when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize core skills such as Java 17, Microservices/ Rest API's, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Datastax/ Cassandra, Openshift/Kubernetes, CI/CD, Splunk for integrations into SendGrid and existing enterprise systems.
• Demonstrate strong distributed-systems fundamentals around batch/events processing, resiliency, retried, auditability, API Security, Automated testing, and production support.
• Translate established architecture into a delivery backlog.
• Guide and mentor developers within the team.
• Review code and ensure adherence to coding standards.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, DBA, and application teams.
• Write production-ready code as needed.

Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Java 17.
• Experience with Microservices architecture and Rest API development.
• Knowledge of Kafka, PostgreSQL, Datastax, and Apache Cassandra.
• Familiarity with Openshift and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment.
• Understanding of Splunk for log management and monitoring.
• Ability to conduct automated testing for quality assurance.
• Strong API development skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience with integrations into SendGrid and other enterprise systems.
• Background in batch/events processing, resiliency, retried, and auditability.
• Knowledge of API security best practices.
• Experience in production support and troubleshooting.
