About the roleAs Safety & Compliance Lead, you will lead the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of Tennis Australia's compliance, permitting and safety assurance programs across our venues and major events, including the Australian Open. Working closely with regulators, consultants and internal stakeholders, you'll ensure our venues and events remain safe, accessible and compliant while driving governance and continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
In this role you will be responsible for:- Leading regulatory compliance, permit and approval processes, including Place of Public Entertainment (POPE) approvals and stakeholder engagement with relevant authorities
- Driving safety, compliance and governance frameworks across major events, venues and infrastructure projects
- Leading accessibility compliance initiatives to ensure inclusive and accessible experiences for patrons, participants and stakeholders
- Supporting and continuously improving Tennis Australia's Safety Management System, compliance assurance activities and risk controls
- Developing and overseeing contractor and property compliance programs, including Essential Safety Measures, training and compliance reporting
To be successful in this role you will:
- Demonstrated experience in safety, compliance, risk, facilities, event operations or governance roles within complex organisations or major event environments is highly regarded
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements, with experience interpreting and applying building, safety and accessibility legislation
- Ability to build trusted relationships with regulators, government authorities, consultants, contractors and senior stakeholders
- Experience developing and implementing compliance frameworks, policies, systems and continuous improvement initiatives
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical operational outcomes
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
- Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis Australia
