The Opportunity

This is a key leadership role within our Environment & Heritage team, responsible for ensuring heritage is considered early, managed systematically and embedded across project development, operations and exploration. You will lead a high-performing heritage team, providing trusted advice to senior leaders and build meaningful partnerships with Traditional Owners and Native Title Parties. As the Lead for Heritage, you will provide strategic direction across heritage approvals, field operations, compliance, governance and information management. You will work closely with operational leaders, project teams, mine planning, approvals, environment and closure functions, Aboriginal Corporations, Traditional Owners and government stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide strategic leadership for MinRes' heritage management across projects, operations and exploration activities.
  • Develop, implement and maintain cultural heritage management frameworks aligned with legislation, regulatory requirements and industry best practice.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of heritage surveys, assessments, approvals, field activities and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, agreement-based and reporting obligations.
  • Embed effective processes to identify, protect and manage heritage values throughout project planning, approvals and operational delivery.
  • Lead heritage incident management, assurance activities and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee heritage information systems, including geospatial data, heritage reports and records, ensuring information is accurate, accessible and appropriately managed.
  • Provide clear, timely and practical advice to senior leaders to support informed decision-making and heritage risk management.
  • Lead, coach and develop the heritage team, fostering accountability, capability, engagement and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain respectful, trust-based relationships with Traditional Owners, Native Title Parties and key internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
  • Tertiary Qualification in Archaeology, Anthropology, Cultural Heritage Management or a related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in cultural heritage management with significant exposure in the mining or resources industry.
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Traditional Owners, Native Title Parties and Aboriginal Corporations.
  • A strong record of developing and implementing strategic heritage management plans that support heritage outcomes and business objectives.
  • Sound understanding of heritage approvals, field programmes, compliance systems, governance, agreement obligations and reporting requirements.
  • Experience managing heritage information, including spatial data, heritage registers and technical reports.
  • The ability to identify emerging heritage risks and implement proactive, practical solutions.
