Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in custom automated machine design for industrial manufacturing and automotive applications. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using SolidWorks (preferred) or Autodesk Inventor to design complex automation equipment from concept through production.

This role requires hands-on experience in designing custom machinery, automated systems, and production equipment in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom automated machinery and mechanical systems for manufacturing and automotive applications.
• Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks (preferred) or Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop machine concepts based on customer requirements and engineering specifications.
• Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance stack-ups, and component selection.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, controls engineers, manufacturing teams, and project managers throughout the design lifecycle.
• Support machine assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and design modifications.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards, safety requirements, and manufacturability guidelines.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of recent experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (preferred); Autodesk Inventor experience is also acceptable.
• Proven experience designing custom automation machinery for industrial manufacturing environments.
• Experience with automated equipment, machine assemblies, conveyors, robotic systems, or special-purpose machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, manufacturing processes, GD&T, and engineering best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive manufacturing automation.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and motion control systems.
• Experience supporting machine build, commissioning, and production startup.
