Team (Project) Introduction 
9th Way Insignia is looking for a Business Process Engineer to provide Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) services to the Veterans Administration Compliance, Risk and Remediation Quality Continuous Improvement Office (QCIO).  9th Way Insignia develops, documents and updates the VA Office of Information and Technology (OIT) business processes along with maintaining the processes in the OIT Process Asset Library.

Functional Job (LCAT) Information: 
Business Process Engineer – Experience in the analysis of IT business and information environment and be able to effectively recommend and implement improvements to the business and data architectures that will improve overall agency performance.
 
Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with QCIO leadership to align process re-engineering efforts with the OIT priorities
  • Assess current process maps and propose “to be” enhancements
  • Develop Technical Working Group (TWG) charters to define the scope and responsible parties performing process work
  • Lead and support the TWG through the business re-engineering process
  • Assemble and publish process maps with supporting documentation sets such process overview, activity details and RACI table.
  • Assist the government lead in the maintenance and upgrades to the Process Asset Library 
  • Developing and updating 508 compliant process mapping documentation

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT/Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience (10 years) in business process reengineering and business process mapping or in developing and optimizing processes in the business, service or manufacturing sectors
  • Experience with effective requirements, data gathering, analysis, and stakeholder interactions around business process and technology needs
  • Knowledge of business process modeling methodologies, notations, and relevant tools, including modeling and visualization tools, such as Visio
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma techniques to eliminate waste from processes
  • Experience with analysis of enterprise-wide business functions and business processes in collaboration with multiple business organizations
  • Knowledge of business process reengineering mapping best practices such as Business Process Modeling and Notation 2.0 (BPMN 2.0)
  • Ability to develop briefs and support senior management and executive communication
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred/Desired: 

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams
  • Experience with 508-compliance
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification
