AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS Data Centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that keep our customers' cloud services running. The Infrastructure Operations (Data Center) team supports AWS' rapidly growing business 24/7, maintaining physical infrastructure and ensuring safety, security, availability, and cost efficiency.
Key Job Responsibilities- Learn the Data Center industry through in classroom and on site experience.
- Assist on site management of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring all work follows established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
- Maintain performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
- Generate change management requests and incident management tickets for DCEO as directed.
- Contribute to documentation relevant to business and facility operations.
- Assist with rack installation and the provisioning of power/cooling within constraints.
- Support routine maintenance and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC equipment, and building monitoring systems.
- Learn about the design, implementation, commissioning, and build out of new facilities.
- Assist with facility asset management and inventory asset management as directed.
- Participate in construction and operational meetings as required.
- Review work order compliance and contractual SLAs.
- Interface with Infra Ops teams for day to day operational requirements.
- Help resolve infrastructure engineering or services issues.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Meet daily operational hours, shift, and on call requirements during shift rotations.
- Support and assist the on site operations team in troubleshooting facility and rack level events within service level agreements.
- Perform rack installs, decommissioning, and facility management.
- Provide operational readings and key performance indicators to maintain uptime.
- Oversee maintenance and operations on all electrical, mechanical, and life safety equipment.
- Interest in maintenance of a Data Center or critical space facility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Leadership mindset and ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
- Facilities Management mindset.
- Computer literate; confident with Office Suite.
- Physical ability to lift rack equipment and work in cramped or elevated spaces following health & safety guidelines.
- Degree or Technical (Military/Trade School) Diploma with relevant experience.
- Data Center Engineering/Operations experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
