Responsibilities

Day to Day job Duties: (what this person will do on a daily/weekly basis )

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain modern web and AI-enabled applications using React, TypeScript, .NET, Azure SQL, and Azure services.
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services using .NET, Microsoft Data API Builder, and other appropriate integration patterns.
• Develop responsive, intuitive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, and modern frontend development practices.
• Design and optimize Azure SQL databases, queries, stored procedures, data models.
• Integrate application, database, and AI services into secure, scalable enterprise solutions.
• Design and implement AI-enabled application capabilities using Azure OpenAI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns.
• Generate, store, and retrieve vector embeddings to support semantic search over structured application data.
• Implement hybrid retrieval strategies combining deterministic SQL queries and semantic/vector search based on user intent.
• Design prompts and structured model outputs that can be reliably consumed by application and database components.
• Integrate large language models with enterprise data while enforcing security, authorization, grounding, observability, and Responsible AI practices.
• Understanding of AI application concerns including grounding, response quality, hallucination risk, security, evaluation, observability, latency, token consumption, and cost.
• Deploy and manage applications using Azure App Service, and Azure Functions, selecting the appropriate hosting model based on application architecture.
• Configure and manage application connectivity among Data API Builder, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Foundry.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated application, database, and infrastructure deployments.
• Manage application configuration, secrets, managed identities, service connections, and environment-specific settings.
• Monitor application, API, database, and AI workload health, performance, reliability, security, latency, and cost.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA Engineers, and other developers.
• Deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business objectives and technical standards

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (what are the skills required to this job with minimum years of experience on each)

• Minimum 2+ years of experience developing web applications using React.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design.
• Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience developing enterprise applications using .NET / C#.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, backend services, service integrations, and secure application architectures.
• Experience with object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with Microsoft Data API Builder or similar database-backed API technologies is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using Microsoft Foundry or another enterprise LLM platform.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience implementing RAG, semantic search, vector search, or comparable grounded AI patterns.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience with prompt engineering, structured model outputs, and integration of LLM responses into application workflows.
• Minimum 1+ years of understanding of AI application concerns including grounding, hallucination mitigation, security, evaluation, observability, latency, token consumption, and cost.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience testing and evaluating AI-enabled application behavior, including nondeterministic model responses, retrieval quality, grounding, and regression scenarios.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience developing and deploying solutions within Azure.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Web Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Storage Services, Application Insights, Microsoft Foundry
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with Azure SQL Database.
• Experience designing relational database schemas.
• Strong SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with database migrations and data integration.
• Strong understanding of vector embeddings, vector similarity search, and semantic retrieval, with experience applying these capabilities to relational or enterprise data.
• Minimum 1+ year of experience utilizing AI-assisted development tools within the software development lifecycle.
• Understanding of AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, and requirements generation practices.
• Experience validating and reviewing AI-generated code and technical artifacts.
• Ability to effectively engineer prompts and workflows to improve development productivity and software quality.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience with Git-based source control systems.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience creating automated unit and integration tests.

Degree: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent work experience

Nice to Have; (But not a must)

• Advanced Azure & Cloud Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates)
• Experience with AI orchestration frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or comparable technologies.
• Experience defining or implementing enterprise Responsible AI and AI governance standards, controls, and processes.
• Experience implementing AI agents, tool-calling workflows, or agentic orchestration patterns.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Experience with automated security scanning and DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with observability platforms and application performance monitoring.
• Experience designing distributed and event-driven architectures.
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives.
• Experience contributing to enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
• Domain Expertise in financial services, healthcare, insurance, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience working in data-intensive environments with modern analytics and reporting platforms.

Benefits

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is $80.00-$92/00/hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
