Job Description

We are seeking a Senior API Automation Tester / SDET with strong hands-on experience in Karate DSL, API automation, and CI/CD pipeline execution. The ideal candidate will design, develop, execute, and maintain automated API test suites using Karate and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of REST APIs, Java-based automation, test frameworks, Git, and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated API test scripts using Karate DSL / Karate Framework.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing of REST APIs.
  • Validate API request/response payloads, status codes, headers, schemas, and business rules.
  • Create reusable Karate feature files, scenarios, configurations, and test utilities.
  • Parameterize test data and manage different test environments.
  • Integrate automated Karate test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Execute automated tests through Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
  • Configure pipeline jobs to trigger API tests automatically during builds and deployments.
  • Analyze test failures, identify defects, and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
  • Generate and maintain automated test reports and test execution results.
  • Perform database validation using SQL when required.
  • Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for source control and test-code management.
  • Collaborate with QA, development, DevOps, and product teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Support continuous improvement of API automation frameworks and testing processes.
