Position: TOGAF Architect for Azure Implementation

Duration: 6 Months (Part-time/80 hours per month)

Location: 100% Remote

Job Description:

• 
  Apply TOGAF architecture practices to assess and document the current-state (As-Is) architecture across business, application, data, integration, technology, and security domains.
  Develop the future-state (To-Be) architecture, including architecture diagrams, technology/integration patterns, capability gaps, dependencies, and alignment with enterprise modernization and cloud strategy.
• Develop a practical transition architecture and roadmap from current to future state, including gap analysis, architecture standards, recommendations, sequencing, risks, and required TOGAF/architecture governance artifacts.
• Design, configure, and implement the Azure Integration Services platform, including API Management (APIM), Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service BEvent Grid, Key Vault, monitoring, networking, and required security components.
• Lead the end-to-end implementation of two enterprise integration use cases, including requirements, API/integration design, development, testing, deployment, security, error handling, monitoring, and production readiness.
• Establish reusable integration patterns, API standards, security controls, CI/CD/IaC, logging/monitoring, and technical documentation so the platform can support additional integrations and use cases going forward.
• Strong hands-on Azure platform engineering experience, including design and implementation of Azure sandbox or landing-zone style environments.

• Deep Terraform experience, including module design, remote state backend, workspaces, state locking, plan/apply lifecycle, drift detection, and automated destroy/rebuild patterns.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar DevOps tooling, including pull request workflows, approval gates, automated deployments, and scheduled jobs.
• Good understanding of OIDC / federated identity between GitHub and Azure, with no dependency on long-lived secrets or stored credentials.
• Hands-on experience with Azure infrastructure components such as VNet, subnets, NSGs, App Gateway / Load Balancer, VM Scale Sets, AKS, Key Vault, Managed Identity, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
• Ability to design and automate infrastructure lifecycle operations, including spin-up, runtime autoscaling, nightly shutdown, weekend shutdown, cost controls, tagging, and budget alerts.
• Strong DevOps mindset with experience creating reusable deployment patterns, YAML workflows, runbooks, environment protection rules, and operational documentation.
• Ability to work with enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure, and application teams to translate architecture direction into working Terraform and DevOps implementation.
• Candidate should be hands-on enough to build and troubleshoot the platform directly, while also being able to explain architecture decisions clearly to leadership and technical teams.
• Public sector, pension, financial services, or highly governed enterprise environment experience would be a plus.
