Are you an experienced HR professional who enjoys turning complex people issues into practical solutions?
Would you like the opportunity to work on high-profile strategic HR projects and help shape the Council's future approach?
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HR Adviser to join our Strategic HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a varied programme of strategic HR work, with a particular focus on supporting Better Leicestershire and ensuring our policies and processes remain effective and compliant during a period of significant legislative change.
Working as part of a small specialist team, you will provide professional HR expertise across a varied portfolio of work. This will include HR policy development, strategic project management, consultation, trade union and stakeholder engagement.
You'll also have opportunities to contribute to the wider work of the Strategic HR Team, whose responsibilities include delivery of the People Strategy, responding to employment law changes and emerging complex people issues, skilled worker sponsorship, strategic resourcing, pay and reward, job evaluation, compliance, statutory and corporate data reporting and trade union consultation.
This role would suit an experienced and proactive HR professional who is comfortable working independently, interpreting employment legislation and HR policy, supporting consultation and negotiation, and delivering complex strategic projects. You'll need to build effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and be able to translate complex HR matters into clear, practical solutions.
For information on our approach to the recruitment of ex-offenders, please see our policy statement.
