Product Manager – Item Management & Ecommerce Catalog
Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid, 3 days in office)

Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager – Item Management & Ecommerce Catalog to drive the evolution of enterprise capabilities supporting retail item data and ecommerce product catalogs.
This position will focus on creating scalable and reliable solutions for managing product information throughout its lifecycle, from initial item creation and vendor onboarding through enrichment, publication, assortment changes, and retirement. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Retail Item Management, Ecommerce Catalog, PIM, MDM, product data governance, and product content management.
Working across Ecommerce, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Data, Architecture, and Engineering, this individual will translate business needs into product strategies, technology capabilities, and measurable outcomes that improve catalog quality and the customer shopping experience.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Set the strategic direction and maintain the product roadmap for Item Management and Ecommerce Catalog capabilities.
Establish scalable processes and standards that support accurate, complete, consistent, and channel-ready product information.
Define and maintain product taxonomy, attribute structures, enrichment requirements, data quality standards, compliance rules, and SKU lifecycle processes.
Own the product intake and discovery process for new item creation, assortment modifications, catalog improvements, and digital merchandising needs.
Work closely with Engineering and Architecture to enhance catalog platforms, APIs, integrations, workflow automation, and data quality capabilities.
Define measurable objectives and monitor KPIs related to item setup cycle time, attribute completeness, catalog accuracy, search discoverability, and error-free publishing.
Coordinate with Ecommerce and Merchandising stakeholders to prepare product catalogs for promotions, seasonal campaigns, new product launches, assortment changes, and marketplace onboarding.
Oversee integrations with vendors and third-party data providers, including product data feeds, digital assets, validation processes, and onboarding standards.
Identify opportunities to enhance product content, catalog enrichment, search relevance, and digital discoverability through analytics and competitive benchmarking.
Function as the Product Owner for Item and Catalog platforms, maintaining the backlog, creating user stories, establishing acceptance criteria, and supporting successful delivery.
Ensure item and catalog solutions accommodate relevant U.S. retail, ecommerce, marketplace, product safety, environmental disclosure, content, and category-specific requirements.
Partner with delivery teams to evaluate releases, address data quality issues, and continuously improve catalog capabilities.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, or comparable product leadership roles.
Direct product management experience with Retail Item Management, Ecommerce Catalog, or Product Information Management (PIM) solutions.
Strong knowledge of retail item data, SKU management, product attributes, taxonomy, catalog enrichment, product hierarchies, and product lifecycle management.
Demonstrated ability to create and manage product roadmaps, requirements, priorities, backlogs, and technology-enabled product initiatives.
Working knowledge of PIM, MDM, ecommerce catalog, and item management platforms, including their integration with ecommerce, merchandising, and supply chain applications.
Experience collaborating across Ecommerce, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Data, Engineering, and Architecture organizations.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, catalog accuracy, product content standards, and information consistency.
Experience defining and evaluating product KPIs and performance metrics and converting business requirements into measurable outcomes.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
Candidates must be currently located in the United States and able to support a hybrid work model in Raleigh, NC.

Professional experience within retail, ecommerce, omnichannel commerce, or marketplace environments.
Understanding of ecommerce platforms, product data syndication, Digital Asset Management (DAM), and catalog APIs.
Experience supporting large-scale item catalogs and complex product hierarchies across multiple selling channels.
Knowledge of retail product compliance, vendor onboarding, product content requirements, and digital merchandising workflows.
Experience delivering products using Agile/Scrum methodologies with distributed Product and Engineering teams.
