The Role

• Operate specialized heavy equipment such as hostlers, top loaders, and cranes to efficiently move and manage shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers accurately and safely between railcars, trucks, and within the intermodal yard.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis, ensuring smooth yard operations.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to guarantee safety and functionality.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily tasks and container movements.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering strictly to established protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety and a keen eye for detail are essential.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing, in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by operational needs.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
