Its roll call of drivers is legendary, with its seven Drivers’ Championship trophies being lifted by true icons of the sport: Alan Jones, Keke Rosberg, Nelson Piquet, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve. The team has made history before and is out to make it again with a long-term mission to evolve and return to the front of the grid.

About the role
Williams is looking for an NDT Technician to help make sure every component we build meets the standard our cars demand. You will carry out a range of non-destructive testing techniques, working from engineering drawings and specifications, and report on what you find. You will mainly work in the factory, with some work in the trackside environment when needed. You will report to the Heritage Car Assembly & Planning Logistics, Inventory & Operations Manager.

What you will do

  • Check that every part passing through the department is examined to the required quality standard.
  • Keep parts moving within our delivery KPIs.
  • Look after NDT equipment, including calibration and maintenance.
  • Write clear reports for designers, manufacturers and other teams.
  • Suggest ideas to improve our processes and products.
  • Keep up to date with industry safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain training material and method sheets.

What you will bring

  • NDT experience on parts made from a variety of materials, including carbon-fibre composites and metals.
  • Appropriate PCN qualifications.
  • Skilled use of NDT and metrology tools and methods.
  • The confidence to draw sound conclusions on part quality independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with good numeracy and literacy.
  • A self-motivated, organised approach to your work.
  • Clear communication with managers, peers and stakeholders.
  • Experience using Microsoft software for communication and reporting.

Life at Williams
You will work in line with our values, be a positive ambassador for the department and take pride in high standards of safety, quality and presentation. There is scope for further training, and you may be asked to help with tasks outside your day-to-day duties from time to time.
