Symitar Developer
On-site | Austin, TX | Contract-to-Hire
Robert Half is partnering with an Austin-based banking client to hire a Symitar Developer (contract-to-hire). The Symitar Developer will be responsible for the development, support, enhancement, and maintenance of core banking applications and related software systems. This position serves as a technical resource for core system support, application troubleshooting, and development initiatives while ensuring system reliability, operational efficiency, and excellent service delivery. The role collaborates with business and technical stakeholders to support critical organizational applications and processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer, support, and optimize the Symitar core banking platform and related applications.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain PowerOn programs, integrations, APIs, and automated workflows.
  • Troubleshoot system issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
  • Support core system upgrades, testing, deployments, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors on implementations, integrations, and issue resolution.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and development standards.
  • Participate in on-call support and provide assistance during critical processing periods.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of professional software development and application support experience.
  • Experience with Symitar administration and development.
  • Proficiency with PowerOn programming.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile and/or Waterfall).
  • Ability to support after-hours processing, maintenance activities, and production issues when necessary.
  • Experience with SymXchange, SymConnect, PowerFrame, or related Symitar technologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL, C#, Java, or other programming languages.
  • Experience with relational databases and system integrations.
