Job Title: Reporting and Insights Analyst

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Location: Chicago, IL - Hybrid

Job Description: Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the portfolio reporting calendar, including inputs, deadlines, reviews, approvals, publication dates, archives, and accountable owners.
• Produce, analyze, distribute, and improve recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, scorecards, and executive summaries using approved data sources and consistent definitions.
• Maintain the KPI inventory and data dictionary, including definitions, formulas, targets, thresholds, sources, refresh frequency, owners, and escalation paths.
• Execute data-quality checks, identify errors or inconsistencies, coordinate source corrections, document issues, and maintain evidence of review and resolution.
• Support governance, compliance, audit, and control reporting by ensuring required reports, approvals, evidence, procedures, and retention records are complete and traceable.
• Analyze trends, variances, risks, dependencies, capacity constraints, financial impacts, and portfolio performance drivers to explain what changed, why it matters, and what action may be needed.
• Collaborate with business, technology, finance, risk, compliance, audit, and delivery stakeholders to improve reporting processes, resolve data issues, and increase adoption of reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in analytics, information systems, business, finance, project management, computer science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Generally 2 or more years of experience producing business, portfolio, project, operational, financial, risk, or compliance reporting.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint skills; dashboard or visualization experience such as Tableau or a comparable platform preferred.
• Working knowledge of  data validation, reporting controls, process documentation, and portfolio or work-management tools
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, ownership of deadlines, written and verbal communication, stakeholder collaboration, and ability to translate complex data into concise insights and recommended actions.

Measures of Success

• Reports are delivered on schedule with clear ownership, dependencies, approvals, and documented exceptions.
• KPIs and dashboards are trusted, traceable, consistently defined, and supported by quality checks and source accountability.
• Executive materials clearly explain performance, drivers, implications, risks, and recommended decisions or actions.
• Compliance and governance reporting is complete, auditable, and easy to retrieve.
• Manual rework, duplicate reporting, recurring defects, and cycle-time delays are reduced through standardization and process improvement.
