Information & Technology - Developer - Database

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Python Database Developer for a contract position with a Major Financial Services Firm located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.
This is a hands-on, technical role responsible for the design and development of database models, data processing jobs, and data extraction/transformation/loading (ETL) using Python. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with data infrastructure and application layer integration, collaborating on AWS infrastructure, and contributing to Python-based applications.
Responsibilities:

• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load structured and unstructured data
• Provide scoping, estimating, planning, design, development, and support services to support project initiatives
• Design, configure, deploy and maintain Python Scripts to support AI project initiatives
• Collaborate on AWS infrastructure, including working with S3 for data storage and AWS Glue for ETL pipeline development
• Contribute to Python-based front-end applications, supporting current interfaces and preparing for a potential future migration to Angular
• Design, develop, test, and implement application code
• Track progress and intervene as needed to eliminate barriers and ensure delivery
• Resolve or escalate problems and manage risk for both development and production support

Requirements:

• Proven experience in the design and development of database models and data/batch processing jobs
• Strong proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading using Python
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries
• Experience with AWS infrastructure, specifically S3 for data storage and AWS Glue for ETL pipeline development
• Familiarity with Python-based front-end application development

Pay range: $70.04 - $80.04 per hour
