Microsoft Power Platform Developer (Onsite in Greenville, SC ) Face to Face interview

Day-to-day job responsibilities:

Reporting Assessment & Migration

• Review priority Power BI, Microsoft Access, Excel, and related reports, including source systems, calculations, refresh methods, and dependencies.
• Map current report fields and business logic to the new enterprise data source and identify missing, changed, or unavailable data.
• Reconnect or update priority reports while preserving required business definitions and reporting capability.
• Update Power Query transformations, DAX measures, data models, SQL queries, and Access logic as needed.

Validation & Troubleshooting

• Compare updated reports with existing outputs and source records to confirm data accuracy.
• Investigate discrepancies and document findings, decisions, limitations, and corrective actions.
• Identify risks involving data retention, access, gateways, refresh performance, security, and long-term support.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Work with business and technical stakeholders to prioritize reporting required for plant operations and decision-making.
• Maintain clear documentation of data connections, report dependencies, changes, and known gaps.
• Provide knowledge transfer and a final handoff to Michelin personnel.

Technical Environment:

• MS Office 365, MS Power Platform, SharePoint

3 Must haves for the position:

1. Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, data modeling, and report-performance troubleshooting including strong SQL skills and experience connecting to multiple enterprise data sources.
2. Working experience with Microsoft Access, including queries and legacy reporting logic; VBA knowledge is beneficial.
3. Experience validating data, reconciling conflicting results, and tracing report logic to source systems.
4. Clear communication, documentation, and independent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business reporting needs into maintainable technical solutions.

Preferred Experience

1. Manufacturing, maintenance, reliability, quality, or operational reporting.
2. Databricks, Oracle, Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, SharePoint, Power Automate, or enterprise gateways.
