Lead by example and mentor Patient Attendants in de-escalation, patient reorientation, behavioral health (BH) safety protocols, and actively support care teams during security events involving aggressive patients.
Perform unannounced spot-checks across hospital units to ensure sitters maintain continuous observation, adhere to environmental safety checks, and remain fully alert and compliant with policy.
Partner with Charge Nurses, House Supervisors, and SPS to evaluate patient acuity, prioritize AvaSure virtual monitoring where appropriate, and coordinate seamless break coverage and shift relief transitions.
Conduct regular audits on 15-minute observation logs (Q15 checks) to enforce real-time documentation and verify that proper 6401/6404 orders are active in patient charts prior to sitter placement or removal.
Act as the primary point of contact between Patient Attendants, Nursing Leadership, House Supervisors, and SPS to resolve real-time floor challenges and escalate urgent patient care or staffing needs.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

Required Credential(s):
- None Required.
Preferred Credential(s):
- BLS Provider. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention.

Education

High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
