Financial Analyst – FP&A

Job Summary:

The Financial Analyst – FP&A will support financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business decision-making across multiple operations and locations. This role will analyze pricing, costs, sales, profitability, and operational performance while developing KPIs, dashboards, forecasts, budgets, and management reports.

The successful candidate will provide data-driven recommendations, identify financial risks and opportunities, and support strategic and ad-hoc business initiatives.
Job Summary:

1. Pricing & Cost Analysis

• Analyze product pricing, food and beverage costs, and market competitiveness across locations.

• Evaluate production, labour, and overhead costs to support profitability.

• Provide data-driven recommendations to support pricing and cost-management decisions.

2. Performance Reporting

• Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales and performance reports.

• Analyze trends, variances, and key drivers impacting sales and operational performance.

• Identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement and communicate findings to stakeholders.

3. KPI & Management Reporting

• Develop and maintain dashboards to monitor KPIs such as sales, margins, labour efficiency, and customer metrics.

• Prepare accurate management reports and variance analysis to support decision-making.

• Support month-end and quarter-end reporting, including variance analysis and management presentation materials.

4. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Support and lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information, validate assumptions, and develop accurate projections.

• Contribute to long-term financial planning and financial modelling initiatives.

5. P&L Management

• Support the preparation and review of corporate P&L statements.

• Analyze actual results against budgets, forecasts, targets, and prior periods.

• Assist in developing strategies and recommendations to improve profitability.

6. Process & Systems Optimization

• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and system efficiency.

• Work with IT and other departments to support automation and improve data accuracy and integrity.

• Promote best practices in financial analysis, reporting, and data management.

7. Strategic & Ad-Hoc Analysis

• Support strategic initiatives, promotional analysis, menu optimization, and operational improvement projects.

• Prepare financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for special projects.

• Provide leadership with actionable financial insights and decision support.

• Perform other finance-related duties and ad-hoc analysis as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a related role; experience in QSR, retail, or franchising is an asset.

• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and profitability analysis.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong financial modelling capabilities.

• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is an asset.

• Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI is an asset.

• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• May require flexibility to support reporting deadlines and business requirements.
