Role: Full Stack Developer (Java/Front End React)
Quantity: 2 Positions
SFIA Level: 4
Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Primarily Remote with occasional travel to Newcastle
Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required
Interview Process: One-stage interview

Overview

We are seeking two experienced Full Stack Developers to join a fast-paced delivery team working on the development and enhancement of critical digital services. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality solutions across both Front End and Back End technologies, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to build scalable, secure, and user-focused applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for developers with strong Java and React experience who are comfortable working in Agile environments and contributing throughout the full software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications and services.
  • Develop robust Back End solutions using Java.
  • Build responsive and accessible user interfaces using React.
  • Create and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, testers, and DevOps engineers.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing strategies.
  • Support troubleshooting, defect resolution, and performance optimisation.
  • Work within Agile delivery teams and participate in sprint ceremonies.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience developing applications with Java.
  • Proven experience building Front End applications using React.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Understanding of modern software engineering principles and design patterns.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and automated testing practices.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team.

Essential Requirements

  • Active SC Clearance is mandatory.
  • Experience operating at SFIA Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel to Newcastle on an occasional basis when required.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within government or public sector programmes.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and infrastructure-as-code principles.
