Job Description

The Mechatronics Engineer will support the development, implementation, troubleshooting, and validation of automated manufacturing equipment with a focus on robotics and automation applications. The role involves robot configuration, automated system set points, equipment troubleshooting, system design, testing, and qualification activities. The engineer will work with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, HMI, and vision systems to maintain reliable automation operations. The position also includes documentation, training, change management, and collaboration with engineering and automation teams. Travel may be required up to 15%.

Key Skills

  • Robot configuration and programming using various robot languages
  • Automated equipment set-point development and implementation
  • Troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Robotic and automation system maintenance and modification
  • Automated system concept development and design
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams
  • Engineering testing, troubleshooting, and implementation of corrective changes
  • Automation system qualification and validation
  • Software, equipment, and technical documentation development
  • PLC understanding
  • HMI software knowledge
  • Vision system integration in automated work cells
  • Integration of Fanuc, Staubli, ABB, and Kawasaki robots/cobots

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Engineering, Technical Practice, or equivalent
  • Engineering or Technical Degree
  • Experience in engineering, quality, production, or manufacturing operations within a product development environment
  • Experience implementing, programming, and troubleshooting automated equipment
  • Understanding of pneumatic functions and implementations
  • Ability to design complex automated systems according to specifications
