Senior Network Engineer (Only W2 Now)

Overview:

The Senior Network Engineer designs, implements, and supports enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and Google Cloud environments. This role is responsible for network deployments, troubleshooting, cloud networking, and production support while collaborating with application teams to ensure reliable and secure operations. Experience with Google Cloud Platform, network automation, and Palo/Meraki technologies is required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise network infrastructure, including design, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing support for corporate office and manufacturing facilities.
• Design, implement, and manage Google Cloud networks; including our mission-critical SD-WAN environment.
• Exhibit strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working through complex outages under pressure.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable updates for non-technical business partners while maintaining precise documentation for engineering teams.
• Adhere to operational excellence mindset by following established Change Management processes and creating and managing documentation that sets and adheres to standards.
• Provide daily operational support; Monitor network health and NOC channels as well as resolve customer tickets within SLAs and support restaurant connectivity.

Requirements:

• Familiarity with deep TCP packet analysis: Analyze network traffic- Layer 1 through 7.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams for cloud deployments and environmental support.
• Deep understanding of Cloud Networking core concepts including design, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SSL Certificate management, with preference to Citrix NetScaler and Google Cloud Platform load balancer deployments.
• 3 years of experience managing networks in a hybrid on-prem and cloud enterprise environment.
• Google Cloud Platform experience troubleshooting within Google Cloud, such as load balancers, VM deployments, VPC Networks, Shared VPC, Host and Service projects, VPC Firewall and Cloud NGFW, Cloud Armor, Routing, Log Explorer, Cloud functions, etc.

Required Skills:

• Strong Networking Fundamentals: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and OSI/TCP-IP models. Can explain concepts clearly, not just configure them.
• Troubleshooting Mindset: Systematic approach to diagnosing issues. Use evidence and data instead of guessing. Comfortable working through complex outages under pressure.
• Automation Skills: Experience with scripting. Understands infrastructure automation and configuration management. Looks for ways to eliminate repetitive manual tasks.
• Security Awareness: Understands network security principles, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, access control, and monitoring. Consider security as part of every design decision.
• Curiosity and Continuous Learning: Technology changes rapidly. Keeps up with cloud networking, SD-WAN, automation, and emerging technologies. Pursues certifications, labs, or self-study.
• Ownership and Accountability: Take responsibility for issues and follow them through to resolution. Don’t blame others when problems occur. Learn from mistakes and improve processes.
• Communication Skills: Write clear documentation, change requests, and root cause analysis.
• Attention to Detail: Small configuration errors can cause major outages. Carefully review changes, diagrams, and implementation plans.
• Team Collaboration: Works effectively with systems, security, cloud, and application teams. Shares knowledge and helps others succeed. Accepts feedback professionally.
• Operational Excellence: Understands change management, monitoring, incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation. Prioritizes reliability and stability in production environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Preferred experience in network automation: leveraging Meraki APIs and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform/Helm/Python.
• Preferred Palo-Alto Expertise: familiarity with firewall policy management, Panorama management. IPS/IDS/URL categorization and filtering; understanding and troubleshooting.
• Preferred Exposure to VMWare NSX.
