IT Asset Technician I with Security Clearance

Our IT Asset Management (ITAM) team is the backbone of our corporate technology operations. We manage the full lifecycle of every endpoint asset, from receiving in our facility to secure, eco-friendly disposal. We combine software automation, precise inventory auditing, and streamlined physical logistics so our workforce always has the tools it needs.

We are a collaborative, detail-oriented group that connects high-level vendor compliance with hands-on, day-to-day technical support. On our team, you will play a critical role in keeping our global IT endpoint devices organized, cost-effective, and ready to scale. ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an IT Asset Management Technician I to primarily support our offboarding and asset recovery program. You will own the day-to-day returns workflow for departing employees, contractors, and interns: making sure every device is recovered, verified, secured, and returned to service quickly.

You will also support IT audit assessments that keep our asset records accurate. When the team needs extra hands, you will help with inventory and deployments. You will work closely with our Asset Administrator, People Business Partners, managers, and regional IT teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO Offboarding & Returns

• Departure Coordination: Manage offboarding cases from start to finish. Confirm each leaver's assigned devices, set the return method and location, and keep stakeholders updated until every device is back.
• Return Logistics: Issue return shipping labels and QR codes, arrange return boxes, track shipments, and follow up on unreturned devices according to our escalation timelines.
• Receiving & Verification: Receive returned devices, verify serial numbers against the asset record, and update the asset management system the same day.
• Data & Device Security: Follow data-preservation and legal-hold procedures, including device imaging when required, before devices are wiped, released, and returned to inventory.
• Return Tracking: Keep the return tracker current on a regular cadence, close out completed cases, and report outstanding devices and trends.
• Volume Surges: Support high-volume events, such as intern cohort departures and refresh programs, with clear organization and steady follow-through. Auditing
• Record Accuracy: Run recurring audits to confirm the assigned user, owner, and location of each device are correct in our asset management system, and cross-check against other data sources.
• Discrepancy Investigation: Investigate mismatches, such as unreturned devices, users with more than one computer that goes unused, and shared or service devices without a named owner. Resolve each one or escalate it.
• User Verification: Support user device confirmations and document results so they are ready for compliance reviews. Inventory & Deployment Support (as needed)
• Physical Logistics: Move, stock, and deploy inventory (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs). This includes moving pallets, breaking down boxes, and stocking shelves.
• Device Maintenance: Physically clean and wipe returned assets, and partner with cross-functional teams on repairs and RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) processes so devices are ready to redeploy.
• Workspace Setup: Set up desks, monitors, and peripherals for new hires and team moves when needed.
• Support Ticket Resolution: Handle offboarding and returns tickets in Jira and walk-up requests, and provide deskside support as needed. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Soft Skills: Eager, motivated, collaborative, reliable, and highly customer-focused, with professional, tactful communication when working with departing team members and their managers.
• Organization & Follow-Through: Able to manage many open cases at once, track deadlines, and follow up consistently until each case is closed.
• Attention to Detail: This role focuses heavily on verifying serial numbers and matching records, so strong attention to detail is essential.
• Inventory Control: Experience maintaining accurate inventory counts and asset records.
• Discretion: Comfortable handling sensitive situations and data, including involuntary separations and legal holds, with confidentiality.
• Physical Capability: Comfortable with physical labor, standing or walking for most of the day, and lifting heavy items (50 lbs+).
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.

US Hourly Range $22.60—$30.30 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
