Job Description

I & E Engineer


Location: Elwood, IL


Pay: $80.00 - $88.65 per hour


Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:00 PM | Hybrid (Onsite/Offsite)

Are you an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer with a strong background in industrial reliability, maintenance, and power systems? We are seeking a skilled professional to support critical electrical and instrumentation assets, improve equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for electrical and instrumentation equipment

  • Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize downtime

  • Support capital projects by reviewing specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and contractor deliverables

  • Lead and participate in Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)

  • Maintain electrical system documentation, schematics, and equipment records

  • Support reliability initiatives and corrective actions for recurring equipment issues

  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, operations, contractors, and equipment manufacturers

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and regulatory requirements


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or Associate/Technical Degree with 7+ years of experience

  • Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems

  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and reliability programs

  • Familiarity with NFPA, NETA, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE, and related electrical standards

  • Experience with Arc Flash and Coordination Studies using SKM, ETAP, or similar software

  • Ability to read and create electrical one-lines, schematics, and loop drawings

  • Chemical processing, manufacturing, or industrial plant experience preferred

  • ISA Instrumentation Certification and NFPA 70E Certification are a plus
