Star Group has been delivering audio visual, electrical, and technology solutions across Sydney for nearly 70 years. Our AV team designs, installs, and maintains systems for corporate offices, health facilities, education, defence, and major commercial builds.
We're looking for a Lead or Senior Audio Visual Technician to join the team, installing, maintaining, and fault-finding AV systems across our many sites in Sydney.

What you'll be doing
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing AV, communications, and data systems on commercial sites.
- Lead the setup and maintenance of advanced audiovisual systems.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and clients to ensure project success.
- Managing and mentoring an on-site AV team, ensuring high standards of performance and quality.
- Working on the latest technologies from suppliers such as Crestron, QSC, LG, Extron, Shure and more.
- Lead and interpret AV schematics, cable schedules and construction drawings.
- Complete service work, preventative maintenance and fault rectification on existing AV systems.
- Complete site documentation, commissioning reports and handover documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with WHS requirements and Star Group quality standards.
What you'll bring
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the AV industry.
- Registered Communications and Data Cabler licence (highly regarded).
- White Card and Driver's Licence required.
- Solid AV installation and fault-finding experience in a commercial environment.
- Good communication skills, comfortable talking to clients.
- Basic understanding of IP networking, switching and VLANs as they relate to AV systems
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
- Certifications from manufacturers such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Cisco or Microsoft Teams Rooms (desirable).
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
