Senior Credit Analyst

The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst (VP) underwrites complex commercial loans, including CRE, C&I, leveraged finance, and asset-based facilities. This role focuses on detailed cash flow, collateral, and borrowing base analysis, prepares clear credit recommendations, supports relationship managers in structuring transactions, reviews ongoing financial and covenant reporting, and participates in loan committee discussions while helping mentor junior credit staff.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite complex commercial loan requests, including CRE, C&I, leveraged finance, and tax credit transactions.
• Analyze borrower financial statements, cash flow, debt service capacity, and financial trends to assess credit risk.
• Evaluate collateral, borrowing bases, and covenant compliance to ensure ongoing credit quality.
• Prepare clear written credit recommendations and present or contribute to weekly loan committee discussions.
• Support relationship managers in structuring loan terms and occasionally join client meetings.
• Monitor existing credits through periodic financial reviews, borrowing base analysis, and follow-up items tracking.
• Maintain current knowledge of banking regulations, economic conditions, and market trends affecting credit risk.
• Provide informal coaching and guidance to junior credit associates in underwriting best practices.
