Position: Node.js AI Backend Engineer
Location: Bay Area, CA – Onsite

Job Overview:
Seeking a Backend Node.js Engineer with hands-on production experience implementing AI/LLM solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development skills and experience building scalable AI-enabled applications and services.

Key Responsibilities & Skills:

• Develop backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and Microservices
• Build backend orchestration for AI/LLM-powered applications
• Implement LLM APIs, RAG workflows, embeddings, and vector databases
• Integrate enterprise knowledge sources and manage prompt orchestration, conversation context, and tool/function calling
• Work with Redis, caching, rate limiting, sessions, and context management
• Develop event-driven systems using Kafka, queues, and background workers
• Implement API security, CI/CD, automated testing, and production deployments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend and AI systems
• Analyze and improve latency, token usage, cost, retrieval quality, and overall AI performance

Required Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript
• Proven experience building production-grade backend systems
• Practical experience implementing AI/LLM applications in production
• Strong understanding of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, and LLM integrations
• Experience with scalable microservices, APIs, messaging, caching, testing, and deployment

Note: This is not a front-end-focused position and is not a pure Data Science/ML research role. Candidates should have real-world experience building and deploying AI-enabled backend systems.
