About the Role:
Provides non-destructive testing (NDT) expertise & process support to Manufacturing and Product Quality in various areas throughout the plant. In addition, this role will provide help to NDT team on training of new and current processes, maintaining Nadcap and other accreditations, and tracking statistical data to help improve overall process efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications (Required & Preferred):
Education: BS Materials Science or Metallurgical (P)
Experience: 5-10 yrs. Manufacturing (R); will consider a recent graduate; 1-5 Years Ultrasonic (P) NAS 410 and ASNT Level II certification (R)
Areas of Knowledge: NDT Testing Methodology - Ultrasonic Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, Eddy Current Testing, etc. (R), General Calibration Standards & Practices (R), Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Lean (P)
Skills: Leadership, organization, communication/technical writing, math/analytical skills, SPC, computer skills (all R)

Role Responsibilities:
- Communicate, adhere to, and ensure compliance with company policies/procedures, training, accident reporting, PPE and environmental requirements.
- Assist with preparation and revision of NDT procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external requirements
- Understand ultrasonic specifications, codes and standards and assist in ensuring internal procedures, methods and equipment are compliant to the latest requirements, reporting if issues are identified and assisting in the corrective actions associated with the issue.
- Provide input on all Non-Standard product requests that have NDT requirements/implications to ensure compliance to the specifications and internal NDT requirements.
- Provide input and assist in execution of qualification and certification processes for Haynes NDT personnel to ensure compliance to all customer, Nadcap and other regulatory body requirements.
- Maintain a general familiarity and understanding of primary NDT methods and be willing to speak up if another method may make a process more efficient or more reliable in regard to yield and/or costs.
- Help to maintain calibration standards library for NDT processes and help to maintain machine capabilities through calibration practices.
- Provide support for failure analysis of customer-returned samples and assist in the determination of root cause and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Be willing to provide support to other Haynes International facilities and domestic service centers as needed.
- Provide oversight and expertise to Haynes NDT operators to help maintain and strengthen team as a whole.
- Be willing to continue education and accreditation with NDT practices to help create redundancy and support within team.
- Perform and ensure timely reporting of all NDT activities as directed.
