- Translate spacecraft payload and program requirements into test capabilities, measurement approaches, interface requirements, verification methods, and evidence-generation plans.
- Develop and coordinate engineering design packages, including top-level assemblies, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), cable packages, rack architectures, RF drawer concepts, FPGA/I/O drawer concepts, calibration plans, Bills of Material (BOMs), and test readiness artifacts.
- Coordinate FPGA and digital I/O requirements across test racks, payload interfaces, data capture paths, timing/reference distribution, and platform evolution plans.
- Support DOTI and related test infrastructure deployment, including station configuration, network topology, equipment monitoring, automated test execution, data handling, and reusable software core integration.
- Identify and resolve gaps among payload requirements, available test capabilities, Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) coverage, calibration approaches, and formal verification evidence.
- Drive reuse and standardization across programs by identifying common capabilities for incorporation into TIDES core infrastructure.
- Develop technical approaches for proposals, including Basis of Estimate (BOE) inputs, labor estimates, assumptions, risks, opportunities, and execution plans.
- Lead technical solution development with program teams, capture teams, engineering leadership, and subject-matter experts.
- Perform and support trade studies spanning hardware, FPGA, software infrastructure, automation, calibration, verification, schedule, cost, and technical risk.
- Translate ambiguous program requirements into candidate architectures, phased implementation plans, staffing requirements, risks, and technical decision points.
- Support technical reviews, proposal color-team responses, customer discussion preparation, and internal engineering leadership briefings.
- Mentor engineers across disciplines and establish consistent engineering practices for TIDES products and test environments.
- Communicate technical issues, risks, impacts, and corrective actions to program teams, engineering leadership, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Security Clearance: Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with spacecraft payload development, integration, verification, production test, or sustainment.
- Strong knowledge of system test environments, automated test systems, RF test equipment, FPGA-based interfaces, rack-level integration, test data infrastructure, and networked laboratory environments.
- Experience translating payload requirements into stimulus, measurement, cabling, calibration, software, network configuration, and ATP evidence requirements.
- Experience with requirements analysis, requirements traceability, interface definition, system integration, verification planning, and test readiness reviews.
- Experience supporting proposals, BOEs, technical volumes, basis-of-estimate narratives, labor estimates, risks, assumptions, and solution-space trade studies.
