AWS Platform Engineer/SRE

Role: AWS Platform Engineer/SRE
Location: Las Vegas, NV (Onsite)
Duration: Long term contract

Job Description:
We are looking for a strong AWS Platform Engineer/SRE with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, automation, networking, observability, and container platforms.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

• 10+ years of overall experience required.
• Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services, including VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, Route 53, EKS, SSO, MSK, AWS Backup, Security Hub, and GuardDuty.
• Advanced AWS networking experience with Transit Gateway (TGW) and Direct Connect, including setup, troubleshooting, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience with observability and monitoring using Amazon CloudWatch, Grafana, OpenTelemetry (OTEL), and proactive alerting/telemetry.
• Strong experience with Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, and Shell scripting for infrastructure automation and deployment.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS and Istio Service Mesh for traffic management, security, and observability.
• Experience with cloud security, patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance best practices.
• Hands-on Python scripting/development for automation and infrastructure tooling.
• Experience with release engineering, monitoring tools such as Kibana and Dynatrace, and Apigee is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in fast-paced Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and operations teams.
