Job Description

Role Summary
This position involves overseeing the development and management of product capabilities within an Agile environment, focusing on delivering measurable business value. The role requires collaborating with stakeholders, technical teams, and Agile delivery teams to translate business needs into actionable product features and priorities. The Product Owner will serve as the voice of the customer, ensuring solutions align with strategic objectives and organizational goals, particularly within healthcare and government-sponsored programs.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring user stories, features, and enablers are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Translate customer needs, business requirements, and strategic goals into clear, actionable user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to define the product vision, roadmap, release priorities, and strategic goals.
  • Partner with stakeholders, customers, and technical teams to gather feedback and refine product requirements continuously.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure that work items are ready for development.
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, customer impact, dependencies, and organizational priorities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and Agile delivery teams, facilitating clear communication of requirements and priorities.
  • Participate in SAFe ceremonies including PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Support development teams during implementation, making product decisions and resolving ambiguities.
  • Monitor product performance, customer feedback, and key metrics for continuous improvement and product optimization.
  • Identify and escalate product risks, dependencies, and impediments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure traceability of features from concept through deployment, maximizing business value.
  • Assist in resolving production support issues and prioritize enhancements based on customer needs.
  • Drive customer satisfaction through ongoing engagement, transparency, and deliverables.
  • Use data analysis and user feedback to inform prioritization and make informed product decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Management, Business Analysis, or related roles.
  • Proven experience managing product backlogs within Agile frameworks such as Scrum and SAFe.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe.
  • Experience creating and prioritizing user stories, product backlogs, and acceptance criteria.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, requirements elicitation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for backlog management and requirements tracking.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and feedback for product improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic and tactical priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • This position requires eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance. In accordance with federal law, U.S. citizenship is required.

Publishing Pay Range: $48.00 - $52.00 Hourly

This is a fully remote role and can be performed from an approved location.
