Job Title: Business Analyst Child Welfare / Child Support
Location: Austin, TX Local candidates within 50 miles
Work Arrangement: 3days Onsite, 2days Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong domain knowledge in Child Welfare and/or Child Support programs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with state/government human-services systems and be comfortable translating business needs into functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, SMEs, technical teams, QA, and project managers.
- Analyze Child Welfare, CPS, Foster Care, Adoption, Child Support, or Family Services business processes.
- Develop BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, workflow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
- Participate in requirements workshops, stakeholder meetings, and process-mapping sessions.
- Support SDLC activities including design, development, testing, UAT, and production validation.
- Perform gap analysis and recommend process/system improvements.
- Support data mapping, reporting, system integration, and modernization initiatives.
- Coordinate with QA teams for test scenarios, UAT, defect tracking, and resolution.
- Ensure requirements align with applicable state and federal regulations.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience.
- Direct Child Welfare OR Child Support domain experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with CPS / DFPS / HHSC / OAG Child Support or comparable state human-services programs.
- Experience with SACWIS / CCWIS or child welfare system modernization is a strong plus.
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation experience.
- Experience creating BRD, FRD, User Stories, Use Cases, Process Flows, and Acceptance Criteria.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
- Experience supporting UAT, QA, defect management, and implementation.
- Strong stakeholder communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Excel, or similar tools is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
