Job Description

Role - Tester/QA Analyst (Katalon, Selenium)

Location- Olympia, WA (Candidate to be in Olympia, WA from day 1; this is an onsite role )

Duration: Full-time with Apexon

Description/Required Skills:

  • Functional/ Manual Testing, Automation Testing, API testing hands on experience with Katalon tool Test Execution: Utilizing Postman to create test scripts for RESTful APIs, Web Services and Microservices.
  • Performing manual and automated tests to ensure the smooth integration of software components and systems.
  • Defect Reporting: Identifying and reporting defects to development teams for resolution.
  • Test Documentation: Documenting test results and preparing test reports for stakeholders.
  • Database testing: experience in database testing Overall: 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a focus on functional, automation, and API testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Functional Testing: o Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for functional testing. o Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies. o Collaborate with developers and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on design and implementation.
  2. Automation Testing: o Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and frameworks. o Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous testing. o Analyze test results, identify issues, and work with the development team to resolve them.
  3. API Testing: o Create and execute API test plans and test cases to validate API functionality, performance, and security. o Utilize tools such as Postman, SoapUI, or similar to perform API testing. o Ensure thorough coverage of API endpoints and maintain API test documentation.
  4. Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a testing perspective. Ensure compliance with QA standards and best practices. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality.
  5. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including development, product management, and operations. o Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and issues. o Mentor and guide junior QA engineers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Experience with API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies. o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
