SAP ERP Finance Business Analyst (Based in Sydney, Australia)

1. Job Purpose

The SAP ERP Finance Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, evaluating existing finance processes, and translating business needs into functional requirements for SAP ERP implementation and transformation projects.

The candidate will work closely with Finance stakeholders, SAP functional consultants, technical teams, and project management teams to ensure that finance business requirements are accurately captured, translated into SAP solutions, tested, and successfully implemented.

The role requires a strong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes, SAP Finance functionalities, business process transformation, and end-to-end ERP implementation methodologies.

2. Key Responsibilities A. Business Requirement Analysis

• Engage with Finance stakeholders to understand business requirements, expectations, and challenges.
• Conduct workshops and requirement gathering sessions with business users.
• Analyze existing AS-IS finance processes and identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Define TO-BE business processes aligned with SAP standard functionalities and industry best practices.
• Translate business requirements into Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), process flows, and functional specifications.
• Identify business process dependencies and integration requirements with other SAP modules.
• Challenge unnecessary legacy customizations and recommend standard SAP solutions.
• Understand and advise Customer for local compliance, statutory requirements in S4HANA.

B. SAP Finance Functional Analysis

• Understand and analyses SAP Finance functionalities and their application to business requirements.
• Work closely with SAP FI/CO functional consultants to validate proposed solutions.
• Support solution design and functional walkthroughs with business stakeholders.
• Analyze functional gaps between business requirements and standard SAP capabilities.
• Ensure appropriate integration between SAP Finance and other modules, including:
  • SAP Materials Management (MM).
  • SAP Sales and Distribution (SD).
• Review functional specifications and ensure alignment with approved business requirements.

3. Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in SAP ERP / SAP S/4HANA Finance.
• Strong functional knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP Finance modules within SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes, SAP Finance functionalities, business process transformation, and end-to-end ERP implementation methodologies.
