Location: Shelbyville, TN
Work Arrangement: 100% On-site
Salary Range: $65,000-$95,000 annually
Primary Requirement: Hands-on FortiGate firewall administration (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on network professional to manage and support its primarily on-premises network infrastructure. This individual will take ownership of network connectivity, security, performance, and availability while working as part of a small IT team.
FortiGate experience is a hard requirement. Candidates must have direct experience administering FortiGate firewalls, not simply exposure to Fortinet products.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on infrastructure work, network troubleshooting, and ownership of business-critical systems.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

• Hands-on FortiGate firewall administration, including firewall policies, NAT rules, access controls, configuration, and firmware updates.
• Experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting SSL VPN and site-to-site IPSec tunnels.
• Strong understanding of routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, and network security.
• Experience troubleshooting network outages, VPN connectivity issues, and degraded performance.
• Experience supporting enterprise networking environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot across network, firewall, and systems layers.
• Familiarity with Windows environments and Active Directory.
• Ability to work 100% on-site in Farmington Hills, MI.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours response to critical network issues.
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• FortiSwitch and FortiAP administration
• Fortinet NSE certifications
• Cisco switching experience
• Dual ISP connectivity and failover configuration
• UniFi wireless bridges
• Enterprise wireless networking
• Network monitoring tools
• Vendor and ISP coordination
• SAP ERP or Radley EDI familiarity
• Experience supporting smaller IT teams
• Manufacturing or automotive industry experience (relevant background, not a stated client requirement)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Infrastructure & Security

• Manage FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitches, and FortiAPs.
• Maintain firewall policies, NAT rules, and network segmentation.
• Administer SSL VPN and IPSec tunnels.
• Monitor WAN connectivity and network performance.
• Manage dual ISP connections and failover.
• Support Cisco switching and UniFi wireless bridges.
• Troubleshoot outages and conduct root cause analysis.
• Coordinate firmware updates and network security maintenance.

Infrastructure & IT Support

• Support network and systems infrastructure projects.
• Assist with connectivity-related end-user issues.
• Maintain network diagrams and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and ISPs.
• Support company-issued iOS devices.
• Document support activities within the internal ticketing system.
• Participate in critical incident response as needed.
