Java Full Stack Lead - Claude AI Experience

Duration: 6+ months
Compensation: $65-70/hr
Location: Onsite inChicago, IL or Minneapolis, MN
We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Lead with strong hands-on development and technical leadership experience, along with practical experience using Claude/Anthropic AI tools in software development.
Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable, enterprise-grade full-stack applications.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
• Develop responsive and maintainable frontend applications using React or Angular.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Work with SQL and relational databases to design data models and optimize queries.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, mentoring, and development guidance to engineering teams.
• Participate in architecture discussions and make recommendations on application design, technology selection, and development standards.
• Leverage Claude/Anthropic AI tools to support coding, code analysis, refactoring, debugging, documentation, test generation, and application modernization.
• Evaluate AI-generated code and ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and coding standards.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, business analysts, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerization, and cloud-based deployments.
• Identify opportunities to improve development processes through AI-assisted engineering and automation.

Qualifications:

• 12+ years of experience in software development, with strong experience in Java.
• 3+ years of experience in a technical lead or senior engineering role.
• Hands-on experience using Claude/Anthropic AI tools for software development or engineering workflows.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, secure coding practices, and application performance.
